Fortune

.

The ever turning wheel circumnavigates the Sun,

fortune rises and falls creating the sparks of the stars.

The trinity of creator, destroyer and preserver

keep the wheel of growth and decay in motion.

.

Birth follows death on the ever turning wheel.

Ten spokes, the number of earth on the tree

turning, turning never to be free.

.

The cosmic clock of perpetual cycles

draws the pulse of the divine into the depths.

Flow and change are governed by our deeds,

our reaction to the cycle of changes.

.

Birth follows death on the ever turning wheel.

Ten spokes, the number of earth on the tree

turning, turning never to be free.

.

Hermanubis, Typhon and the Sphinx

Feeling, thought and ecstasy, sloth, activity and peace

Revolve in timeless rhythm of fortune and misfortune

creating fate for our transformation.

.

Birth follows death on the ever turning wheel.

Ten spokes, the number of earth on the tree

turning, turning never to be free

until in perfection we cease to feel

and rise above the ever turning wheel.

The Thoth Tarot was painted by Lady Frieda Harris

under the direction of Aleister Crowley.

In the Book of Thoth by The Master Therion (Aleister Crowley)

he describes the deck as the Egyptian Tarot.

The Lovers

.

Blessed by the hermit from beyond the veil

Ebony and Ivory are entered into matrimony.

Floating above the head of the sage

Eros prepares his arrow of attraction

the energy which created the Universe.

The winged orphic egg is circled by the serpent.

This latent seed of life lies between two tinctures.

The Moon and her crown of silver.

The Sun and his crown of gold.

Perfect balance and twin perfection.

Celebrated under an arch of swords

the wedding of opposites captures

the duality and ardour of humanness

striving to reclaim the unity of the universe.

The Emperor

.

A massive and mature, fiery red figure

of masculinity, mars and the Aries ram

sits regally upon a crystal throne

the orb symbolizing his power.

.

Master of all he surveys

do we see the assertiveness of ego?

A polarity of personality with limiting dogma?

Does he seek to rule the Empress too?

.

His shield of red eagles represents the red tincture

which must be balanced with the Moon and Silver,

the white shield and tincture of the Empress

in order to accomplish the great work.
