Screw Tops

.

I always wondered what it would be like to be a gold fish in a bowl, but life in here got really dizzy swimming in circles so I had some water syphoned off and am resting.  My forfeit for not completing my wish is to study this catalogue of screw top art and place them in order of merit. This I am finding mentally challenging and I hope I don’t fall asleep on the job.

When you make a wish

be careful what you ask for

the spell will come true.

“I am the star that rises from the sea,

The twilight sea.

I bring men dreams that rule their destiny.

I bring the moon-tides to the souls of men,

The tides that flow and ebb and flow again,

That flow and ebb and flow alternately

These are my secret, these belong to me.

I am the Eternal Woman, I am she.”

Inspired by ‘The Story of the Other Wise Man’ by Henry Van Dyke 1895.

A charming tale of Arteban and the Precious Pearl he brought for the Christ child but arrived too late,  the family had already fled into Egypt.

“Who seeks for heaven alone to save his soul

May keep the path, but will not reach the goal,

While he who walks in love may wander far,

Yet God will bring him where the blessed are.”
